Hospice Volunteers & how much time they have to give?

Hospice Volunteers are truly compassionate members of the community who contribute time in their day to the care of patients.  Volunteers apply their interest and skills to enrich the quality of life for patients and their families as they walk this difficult path.  It is volunteers that assist in numerous ways to ease the burden of patients and their families as they battle the disease.

You can volunteer as much or as little as you wish.  We will accommodate your schedule and availability.

What Kind of Training Does a Hospice Volunteer Receive?

Volunteers receive training to prepare them for the volunteer activity of their choice; equipping them to meet the challenges and rewards to have a unique experience.  Hospice volunteers are there to support and assist the hospice professionals and will go through an orientation to explain hospice care and FHO's hospice philosophy, what is expected of you, and how to handle situations that may arise during your volunteer experience.  You will meet our staff and understand how our team works together for the patient and family.

Who Can Be a Hospice Volunteer & how important is it?

Anyone who is caring, compassionate, and committed to making a difference in the life of a hospice patient.
